Toastmasters district mission is to build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence. When the club has enough members to provide communication, leadership skills practicing to fill meeting and committee assignments, the member experience is heightened.

D85 will strengthen the promotion of the 3 following club membership building programs from Toastmasters International:

Smedley Award
Program Dates: August 1 – September 30

In honor of Ralph Smedley, can your club add five new, dual, or reinstated members between August 1 and September 30? By doing so you’ll qualify to receive a "Smedley Award" ribbon to display on your club’s banner. In addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs earn a special discount code for 10-percent off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)

Applications and payments for members who join between August 1 and September 30 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than September 30. Each member's join date as listed on the application must be for August or September. The addition of transfer and charter members does not count toward “Smedley Award” credit.

The winning clubs will be revealed online within a few weeks of the contest ending. Winning clubs should allow up to 10 business days to receive their award if they are located in the United States, and up to 21 business days if they are outside of the United States.

Talk Up Toastmasters!
Program Dates: February 1 – March 31

Toastmasters love to talk, so take advantage of it. During the "Talk Up Toastmasters" membership contest, you can encourage your members to invite guests to a special meeting where regular procedures are augmented by a discussion of Toastmasters' many benefits. Add five new, dual or reinstated members to your roster between February 1 and March 31 to receive a special "Talk up Toastmasters" ribbonto display on your club’s banner. In addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs earn a special discount code for 10-percent off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)

Beat the Clock
Program Dates: May 1 – June 3

Toastmasters are taught to run meetings on time, finish speeches on time and reach membership goals on time. In that spirit, "Beat the Clock" is a great motivator for finishing the year on schedule—and with a bang. The goal for your club is to earn the "Beat the Clock" award! Make this a contest in your club to encourage every member to get involved. Clubs adding five new, dual or reinstated members during May and June receive a "Beat the Clock" ribbon to display on the club’s banner.In addition to the ribbon, qualifying clubs earn a special discount code for 10-percent off their next club order. 3. New Club Banner Refund / 新建俱乐部旗帜报销奖励
Starting from July 1st of 2017, all new-chartered clubs, which has more than 3 experienced members meeting the following requirements, could reimburse the banner fee* from district.
1. These members have or had hold membership in mature Toastmasters Club (any club chartered before the new club)
2. These members had attended 12 or more regular meetings in the mature clubs, andhad finished 3 or more projects in communication track (CC or AC)
3. These members may receive certificate from the presidents of the mature clubs to prove that they had meeting the above requirements
* Note: Transportation cost and custom duty and tax from club banner purchasing will not be reimbursed.
从2017年07月01日起,所有新建俱乐部,如果拥有三位符合下述要求的有经验会员,就可以从大区报销会旗的费用*,以资鼓励:

For those clubs that is the 1st Club in a city where there is no mature club, twice Club Officer Trainings in 1 year with 4+ officers attended for each will be required to get this award.

For New Club president - please ask your Area Director to submit “new club banner reimbursement application” which follow District reimburse procedure for expense approval (attached club banner order file and 3 experienced members confirmation files and reimbursement excel file;For the first club in the new city, please provide the 4 officers’ signature on the attendance sheet of the 2 division COTs within the year). Approval should be obtained from Club Growth Director and District Director. After approval, District Treasurer will reimburse the money to the account filled in the reimbursement files after he receive your files.

4. Suspend Club Award / 俱乐部重生奖励
Every person has life cycle, so does our Toastmasters clubs. Does it worthwhile to rejuvenate our struggling even suspended clubs? The answer is YES! You will feel so proud that the club begins a new life cycle because of the change you and your team made, with all your hard work, determination and patience. During this process, your speaking, thinking and listening skills will also be greatly improved.

For any club which got suspended on the TI dashboard as of June 30, 2017, you will be awarded the reimbursement of USD100* of TI purchase when you achieve the Distinguished Club by June 30, 2018.
* Note: This reimbursement could be applied for any purchase of TI orders, and the transportation cost, custom duty and tax will not be reimbursed.
在2017/6/30的TI头马国际官网dashboard出现suspend字样的俱乐部,如果你在2018/6/30之前获得”卓越俱乐部”,那么你就可以获得100美金的在TI官网购买任何物品的报销额度。

Club president please ask your Area Director to submit “suspend club award” application which follow District reimburse procedure for expense approval (attached TI order file and reimbursement excel file);. Approval should be obtained from Club Growth Director and District Director. After approval, District Finance manager will reimburse the money to the account filled in the reimbursement files after he receive your files.

The development of our district is up to you, me and everyone. In order to promote those district officers who made tremendous contribution to our club and membership growth, our district will give awards in every 6 months according to the results of Dec 30, 2017 and June 30, 2018.
我们大区的成长离不开每一位大区官员(尤其是小区总监,中区总监)的努力付出! 感谢每一位对俱乐部和会员发展做出杰出贡献的大区官员,大区将半年一次分别依据2017/12和2018/6结果对其进行奖励。
Awarding criteria:
Area Director: Net growth of 1 club and 10% growth in membership
Division Director: Net growth of 2 club and 10% growth in membership
